Golfing holidays at Hawthorn Farm
Kent has a long-standing golfing history, and it's easy to see why this part of Kent in particular attracts both amateur and professional golfers from all around the world.
One of golf’s most prestigious tournaments, The Open Championship, has been hosted in Sandwich 17 times and the first time the Open was played outside of Scotland was in 1894 at Royal St George’s. We were absolutely delighted after an uncertain 2020, that the 149th Open returned to the Royal St George's club in July 2021. Congratulations to Collin Morikawa for his outstanding performance and remarkable win!
Hawthorn Farm Cottages in Kent is an ideal holiday destination for golf lovers
Hawthorn Farm is a short 5.2 miles drive from the historic town of Sandwich, and is ideally located for a variety of golfing opportunities - from championship links to clifftop courses, parkland and heathland courses, driving ranges, mini and crazy golf - which can be enjoyed by players of all ages, abilities and levels of interest. Every course has something unique to offer, so if you have time, you can explore the full range of options available!
The accommodation
The five charming holiday cottages within the farm are managed as a family business by Tina and Steve Newman, who have worked hard to develop a great reputation for their warm, "can-do" approach to hospitality. The cottages have received numerous effusive 5* reviews since they took ownership and began a programme of refurbishment in September 2016. Tucked in the midst of Kent's iconic fruit orchards, these comfortable cottages are ideally located for you to make the most of the fantastic golfing opportunities in the area!
With four 2-3 bedroomed cottages and a luxury annexe to the main farm house, we can accommodate up to 20 people at Hawthorn Farm. Each cottage can be rented individually from 4 nights to 28 days, or all together if you have a group that would like to stay close by but not having to share one large property. Please note that the minimum stay for group bookings (3 cottages or more) is 7 nights and subject to availability.
