Why stay at Hawthorn Farm Cottages?

Flexibility

Each cottage can be rented individually for 2 or more nights (4 night minimum may be in place during our busiest seasons), and can variously accommodate between 2 and 5 guests. If you have a special occasion, or if you're looking for self-catering accommodation for a larger group of family or friends (up to 20 adults and children in total for a minimum rental of 7 nights) then Hawthorn farm is the perfect place as we can offer you exclusive rental of all four cottages, plus the option of the luxury suite annexed to the main Farm House between April and September, subject to availability.

On-site management

As the owners live at Hawthorn Farm throughout the year, our guests benefit from the personal care and contact you can enjoy at privately owned holiday cottages. Not only that, you'll have help at hand with detailed knowledge of the properties, local knowledge and the added flexibility of on-site hospitality services when wanted. If you simply want to check in, do your own thing and check out again at the end of your stay, that's fine too!

Recently renovated

The cottages have all been converted, furnished and equipped to a high standard. Since taking ownership in September 2016, Tina and Steve have been updating and refurbishing them all (including installing free wifi, upgrading to smart TV's, replacing all the beds/bed linen, and upgrading the kitchen equipment and soft furnishings) to ensure that they are a really comfy holiday home from home with all the modern conveniences you'd expect. If there are any facilities that are particularly important to you, please contact us and we will do what we can to ensure you have everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Suitable for people with disabilities and limited mobility

All the cottages in the terrace at Hawthorn Farm (Cherry Tree, Rowan and Primrose) are single storey with flat access and low threshold entrances.

Primrose Cottage is particularly well suited for people with wheelchairs, as it is the most spacious, closest to the small car park, and has a large wet room, hand rails and a four foot electric bed with optional air mattress.

Foxglove Cottage is also single storey, with two small steps at the entrance. It  has the advantage of a shower room, with a low threshold shower, comfort height toilet, and grab rails. Although Pear Tree Cottage is not suitable for wheelchairs, it is a single storey cottage, with ramp access and also has a large walk in shower with grab rail in the shower.

Free Wi-Fi

You'll find free Wi-Fi in all of the cottages for your enjoyment and convenience. Your cottage's unique login details are in the information pack in your cottage. If you fancy an IT/social media detox, then we can arrange that for you too, by switching it off during your stay!

Pet Friendly Holidays at Hawthorn Farm CottagesPet friendly

If you have pets, one of the advantages of a staycation, is the ability to bring them with you, rather than subjecting them to expensive kennels or catteries. We have therefore designated two of our cottages (Primrose and Foxglove) as "Pet Friendly", and well behaved dogs and other pets are welcome to stay in those (we simply charge £25 per stay for up to 2 pets). Whilst all of the cottages are thoroughly cleaned and aired between visitors, the other two cottages (Cherry Tree, Rowan and Pear Tree) are currently kept pet-free for anyone who needs to be more confident of a completely pet hair-free environment.

Heating, water and electricity included

For the cooler months, the cottages are centrally heated and double glazed, so you can be sure to enjoy your holiday and stay nice and cosy throughout the year. We provide duvets and throws on the beds, but if you find you need additional blankets, please ask and we'll happily supply them. All heating, water and electricity is included in your rental fee. You will only need to purchase your own charcoal if you're planning to use the BBQ or the pizza oven.

Luxury bedding and towels provided

For your comfort, the beds will be made up shortly before your arrival with top quality white cotton bed linen. We supply a mixture of hypo-allergenic pillows, but if you have any specific needs please let us know in advance. We also supply a set of white cotton towels per person (1 bath towel and a hand towel) unless you prefer to bring your own. We ask you to confirm your preferences regarding the configuration of beds/bedding and towels during the booking process.

On-site laundry facilities

Hopefully you won't need to be worrying about doing the laundry while you're on holiday, but in case you do, we have a laundry room available for use by anyone staying at the cottages. The washing machine and tumble drier are coin-operated (taking £1 coins and 20p pieces) You'll find an iron and an ironing board in your cottage. Please note, that owing to the construction of the cottages, we cannot allow wet clothes to be dried indoors, but we do have a number of clothes airers if you prefer to dry your clothes outside, rather than use the tumble drier.

Smoke free

All the cottages are strictly non-smoking. There are outdoor ashtrays for anyone who would like to smoke outdoors. Candles and any other naked flames are also prohibited indoors.

Cleaning services

The cottages are thoroughly cleaned and prepared between guests. If you are staying for more than a week, we will change all the bed linen and provide a cleaning service after every 7 nights if you would like it. If you prefer not to be disturbed, then we will of course respect your privacy.

Optional extras

Would you like to make your stay that little bit more special? We are able to provide a few holiday extras which you can order when you make your cottage booking. These include: breakfast hampers with fresh local ingredients for you to make breakfast on your first morning; three different locally made curry suppers; Kentish sparkling wine and chocolates; and hand-tied bouquets of flowers. CLICK HERE for more details.
